I'm going to start on Armored Core 2: Another Age tonight, I think. It'll be good.
This time, though, if you want, you'll get to watch me play it. I'll be playing it on my PC, using PCSX2 with widescreen hacks, and recording it to upload to YouTube. (I'd stream to Mixer if I could, but I don't have home internet.)
If you're interested in watching, please reply to this toot; I could definitely use the encouragement.

The very basic gist is that you're in a giant customizable mecha and you go around shooting things.
The worlds of the Armored Core games are ones where megacorporations tend to wield ultimate power and war against each other, while governments try, and mostly fail, to keep them in line.
You play as a mecha-piloting mercenary, or "Raven," taking jobs from all of the above for the cash.

About 15-20 missions in, the main conflict comes into view (such as the arrival of Leos Klein in AC2 or The Controller's stifling of humanity, I think, in AC3) and most of the rest of the missions focus on that.
In addition, there is usually also the Arena, a series of 1v1 battles against computer opponents. Some of them actually play parts in the story. If they die in the story, a new Raven will pop up at the bottom of the rankings to replace them.
@Formedras I've never played the Armored Core games. I'd love to see what they're about.
