Just got my #AppleCard delivered. I thought they were joking when they said it was a titanium card... But now it makes cool music against my ace pride ring.
I've had to explain the pronouns on my nametag basically every day since I put them on there and while I'm glad to do it, it's lowkey tiring after a while. And I've just been doing this for a few days, and these are the pronouns I was assigned at birth. I can't imagine how exhausting it'd be if they weren't. Trans people are so strong.
More stuff about games. It's kind of my new deal.
Switched gears and played some #Code7. I'm very much enjoying this style of game. It's like an secape room on steroids.
👋 Helpful Reminders 👋
👁️🗨️ You can add image descriptions! This looks a bit different if you use any of the mobile apps, but in the standard mastodon web interface you just click a textbox on top of the image preview. If you can, adding image descriptions is very helpful to people with visual impairments. Even something as short as "dog" is a lot more than nothing!
👔 This is also where you can find the image crop tool, so you can do them both at the same time!
We LOVE image captioning here. We are very pro captioning. It can be hard to get used to doing so on a regular basis. I highly recommend following @PleaseCaption
This bot is very non intrusive and will just DM you if you forget to add captions. If you do, you can just delete-and-redraft and add captions without losing any of your info!
(You can find "Delete and Redraft" under the ... icon on your toots.)
I just want to see a girl save a cute boy and fall in love, presented in earnest and not just as a joke or an idea
I don't care about a "strong woman who needs no man," i think girls should be able to indulge in this kind of sexual/power fantasy rather than be expected to rise beyond it
I think we don't see it not because we don't want a girl to save someone but because we're afraid to see boys in feminine positions complete with all the trappings of the role
General assumptions about blindness, dog guides, let's see if you can figure out the other implications
PSA: Yes, I'm a blind person. Yes, i like dogs. No, I do not have a dog guide. No, dog guides are not the perfect solution for every blind person. Besides that, the doctor won't clear me for one until they declare me in remission. It was my pleasure to share with you this information.
