@emsenn I didn't see it until you mentioned it (mostly the perspective) but now I do and the effect is super cool 👌
@brandon get it cause sky to space is high and higher and that's what the things inside might do? :-D
(In some ways, I'm very easily entertained, lol.)
@emsenn I love it, fuck do I love it
@brandon oh btw we bought the box at Michaels which also sells acryllic paints and brushes. The box was a dollar, you could tbh get away with a black, blue, white, and red, and a single brush - go for a small filbert. So like $3 for paint and $1 for the brush, $5 all told.
Oh - make it $6, pick up some gloss coat to finish it.
@emsenn ...wow that's quite inexpensive. I would imagine it would be something around $12-15 here
@brandon :O I forget sometimes how low the cost of living is where I am.
@emsenn I'm speaking more from the perspective of the exchange rate actually :P but yes also cost of living is probably higher where I am
@brandon Ahh, gotcha. Well, is $13 REALLY more expensive than $6 in my area, then, I wonder?
(Iunno what our average pay in the area is, but a big mac costs 3.48, how about you?)
A big mac in my area costs:
@brandon That's not too bad a difference! Let's call it seven and a quarter to buy the craft supplies then. ^_^
(And you of course end up with waaaay more paint than you need, legit could probably paint 30 of these.)
@emsenn so around 10-12 CAD including tax
@brandon oh, right. I haven't had coffee yet.
Weird to think that stuff is ~20% more around you than me.
@brandon I guess not considering tax rate - what's your applied sales tax rate at a store near you? mine is 8.5%
@emsenn tax rate applied in Quebec is 9.5% provincial and 5% federal
@brandon so like 14.5% or some bit more if they're applied sequentially?
@emsenn Thankfully not applied sequentially.
Tax amounts are calculated both based on the pre-tax price, and then the amounts are added
@emsenn I might actually do this btw, I think it would be nice to be creative for once
@brandon I love the aesthetic slowly developing in my apartment. It's hard to capture it with pictures but for example I've started labeling some stuff with masking tape written on with a thick marker in my best gothic font - lemme
@emsenn emsenn, that's hella adorable and I love it
@brandon Thanks! It's a lot easier to write that way than you'd think! Except for some letters, which are IMPOSSIBLE.
@emsenn I imagine having the right tools helps
@brandon Oh good point - yes, it's trivial to do IF you have the right tools, and pointless to try if you don't.
@emsenn I have a calligraphy pen but nothing super fancy. I can barely write my name XD
@brandon I'm pretty sure your first name has every kind of stroke most forms of script would use so it makes sense that it'd be hard.
@emsenn XD I tried to learn it for an ex, I could write her name (5 characters using sigoa (not in that order)
