The Windows 7 installer mysteriously will not install to a totally blank hard drive. There are no other hard disks for it to get mixed up with, no attached USB devices, and I'm running it from a DVD. I have wiped the partition table, the MBR, and tried using several different hard disks. I've tried creating the partition manually, and formatting it manually.
It says to look at setup log files, but they don't seem to exist where they're supposed to.

I'm considering telling her to just use wine. Supporting wine is easier than this.
