antitrust lmfaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
good luck with that one
@Leaf @packetcat is it? I thought everyone moved off of it for cost reasons a while ago. (also probably depends on if you measure % of servers or % of users or % of posts or whatever)
@nightpool @packetcat lol i have no actual idea or way of knowing; all my Mastodon Administration Facts(tm) are from talking with bea three years ago
she liked AWS for convenience purposes but cost was less of an issue for her at the time
a lot of people use jortage now so idk
@nightpool @packetcat (but jortage is just media hosting and idk what the backends are running on or if that makes a difference re: AWS costs)
servers mostly Hetzner Cloud, with a smattering of Digital Ocean, Linode, Vultr, OVH (masto.host is on OVH so that's a lot of instances)
media hosting, its a lot of Jortage or Wasabi directly, or just hosting the media on the server itself
(Ten Forward uses Linode with media on AWS S3 + Cloudfront for the CDN)
@packetcat pretty sure a significant amount of the fediverse is still being served by AWS sooo
