Serious spoliery today, do watch the episode first.

Wow lots going on this episode, as usual. I hope they more into Spock's numbers and codes, if it's all just comes out as a star coordinate that's kind of simple, but Talos IV!

I mean, OK I admit I had to look it up, it sounded familiar but couldn't remember. Right back to the beginning. I'm assuming this is after the events of "The Cage" which would mean Spock ...

...Wants to go there to get healed by the Talosians crazy big psychic brains. This could prelude why he's able to go back years later to bring Pike there, serous TOS connections going in here.

Also loved the family dynamic, new second favourite line for the season "try again, husband."

Also timely wymiymeness seems to be confirmed. I hope it's a good and new reason.

@quark I loved that line too. Loving, yet very clear in its meaning. Now I’m beginning to see where some of these rifts could arisen. And how about that bomb Georgiou drops on Leland about Burnham’s parents? Sarek seems rather tight or at least on board with Section 31. Could it be that he knows something about what really happened, or are they duping him (very possible since they persuaded him they weren’t going to hurt his son)?

@Omega_Molecule Right, forgot about that! Prediction: Burnam is going to tear down Section 31 at some point so far that it will have to hide in the shadows. But if it's true they killed her parents and Sarek knows, that will be an epic fight and she won't forgive him. I bet he doesn't know.

Also, why is Georgiou being nice? I don't buy her answer, it's some other reason. It could be made up, or she wants to create pressure on Section 31 so she can take it over.

@quark I'm leaning in that direction, too. I bet Burnham goes head to head with Section 31 and the fallout is such that it retreats into the shadows for a long time.

@quark About Georgiou, she seems mainly motivated by self-interest--I mean, it makes sense that the Terran Emperor would want to just take over the whole operation at Section 31--but she also cares for Burnham in some way that's unclear so far. I did appreciate her relative forthrightness in saying, "Well, this will help you get what you want and it will also help me get what I want. How about it?"

@quark I will say I thought it a bit surprising that neither Amanda nor Section 31 figured out that it corresponded to coordinates. I mean, that’s the first thing I would try. But I would love to decode everything else he was writing on that wall (side note: the Vulcan language is just so beautiful in written form).
