Did you participate in the #DecemberAdventure this year?
I'm gonna write up a retrospective on my blog of this year's adventure -- I'm not 100% certain how I'm gonna use them, but, I'd love to collect some quotes from folks about their thoughts of it -- nothing fancy, nothing wicked long, just a couple sentences.
If you are interested in providing that sort of thing either do so as a reply to this thread, DM me, or email me by magically figuring out my email (it is on my website) https://eli.li/about
@eli_oat I did a half adventure, but I found it to be a rewarding almost immediately. December Adventure strikes that balance of motivating and inspiring without pressure or competition. I learned a lot and have a good foundation for continuing the journey into next year!
@eli_oat We spared a bit of time each day to close the year by spreading a bit of creativity around. It was a good time to encourage each other in exploring these ideas that lingered at the bottom of the projects list, these ideas you did not think you'd get to actually try out, document and show to people.
@eli_oat What if I wanted to do the DecemberAdventure but for whatever reason I did not? I am interested in this sort of thing, though most of my game jamming stuff is done with alakajam.com these days.
@eli_oat The Christmas theme of AOC is nice but I don't always like puzzles so it was great to see a more open and creative format. I think doing stuff everyday is a bit too much for me, specially in December, but also I understand there is no really pressure. In the end I got sick and didnt feel like posting five times when it was out of the rhythm of once a day?!
@eli_oat Planning on a bigger write up but I enjoyed a lot! I liked the idea of using December as an excuse of doing something I wanted to do long ago :)
@eli_oat After inconsistent decadv activity for the first two weeks I felt more pressure than pleasure and ended up not touching computers at all for the last two weeks of 2023. Overall it feels like a win!
