we have literally been prescribing psychotropic medication (e.g. chlorpromazine), thus bringing in the modern age of psychiatric therapy since 1952. 1949 if you include lithium carbonate.
last i checked either of those are well more than 2 decades ago…
don’t kid yourself this isn’t about curing mental illness, it’s about eugenics. the problem isn’t the drugs, but the fact that mental health treatment has become destigmatized to the point that many orders of magnitude more people are seeking treatment. they don’t like that, they want the number to go down.
